Outstanding Publication Award
This award recognizes outstanding publications representing dance scholarship, including journal articles, books, films, CDs/DVDS, and computer software.
The DSA awards contribute not only to the visibility of the individuals and works honored, but also to the visibility of dance research and to our continuing drive for excellence in dance scholarship.

Awarded annually to the best first book in dance studies published in the English language in the previous calendar year.
Awarded annually to the best English-language article published in dance studies.
Awarded each year to the best book in dance published during the previous three calendar years.
Awarded annually to a book published in the English language that advances the field of dance studies.
This award recognizes the aid rendered the field of dance studies by people who sustain existing structures, institutions, and organizations for dance research.
This award honors an exceptional scholar or leader for sustained contributions to dance research.
An annual award that is made to an individual whose professional, artistic or scholarly work has made a significant contribution to the field of dance.
The Selma Jeanne Cohen Award aims to encourage graduate student members of DSA by recognizing excellence in dance scholarship.
Each year, three grants will be made to graduate students to help defray the costs of attending the annual conference.
