Conference Fellowship for Contingent Faculty/Independent Scholars

Three awards (up to $1,000) will be given to contingent faculty or independent scholars to present at the 2020 conference in Vancouver.

In response to the growing number of contingent faculty and independent scholars in the field of dance studies and across academia, DSA will offer financial support for travel and attendance at the upcoming 2020 conference in Vancouver Canada (October 15-18, 2020).

Applicants must have a paper accepted to the conference and be without outside institutional support.  In all cases, successful applicants will explain how attending the conference and presenting research will further their professional profile and career growth.  Awardees will have hotel and travel reimbursed, up to $1,000 USD, with receipts submitted.  Base registration fees will be waived (not including performance tickets or other add-on expenses). 

Eligibility:

  • Presentation acceptance (Submission deadline Feb.17th: https://dsa2020.dryfta.com/)
  • DSA member in good standing
  • No outside institutional support
  • Not local to the conference location

NOTE: Because this is a pilot program for 2020, award submissions will be reviewed by the DSA Executive Committee.
