ACLS Intention Foundry Learned Society Extended Engagement Microgrants

The American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) is excited to announce the inaugural awardees of its Intention Foundry Learned Society Extended Engagement MicrograntsWith funding from the Mellon Foundation, ACLS established Intention Foundry (IF) in 2021 as a multi-year series of in-person and virtual workshops in which ACLS member societies collaborate with scholars and higher education administrators to develop and pilot actionable solutions to advancing equity, inclusion, and justice in their fields.

DSA is one of 10 societies to be receive this award and the Standing Committee on Membership & Professional Development has graciously taken up the labor of this project. The $3500 award will support a series of 2025 events programmed around academic freedom, responding to the particular precarity faced by our colleagues in Florida and Texas due to legislative action against DEI initiatives, critical race theory, and beyond. Stay tuned for announcements about the series!

JOIN DSA

DSA is a member-led organization.  Please join DSA (with rates beginning at $30/year) to submit to and present at conferences, and to join or start a Working Group.  You do not need to be a DSA member to submit to any of our publications.  Run for the Board or join a Standing Commitee (membership required).  There are many important ways for your voices to be heard and for you to influence the direction of the organization.  But we are a small nonprofit with one employee, and your member-led leadership is invaluable.
